THIRD WORLD NEWSREEL: AFRICAN SPIRITUALITIES

May 26 – May 27

Anthology highlights the invaluable work of Third World Newsreel with screenings of two films from their collection – one new, one newly restored – that focus on African spiritual practices and their adherents in Africa, the U.S., and beyond.

Since 1968, Third World Newsreel (TWN) has advanced movement storytelling and media arts for cultural and social justice, and championed the self-representation of historically marginalized communities through diverse genres and forms of media, such as documentary, experimental, and fiction. This program presents two recent additions to their “African Spiritualities” collection. For more info about Third World Newsreel visit: https://www.twn.org/
