THE NEW YORK POLISH FILM FESTIVAL SPECIAL 10TH ANNIVERSARY

May 8 – May 11

The NYPFF showcases the most interesting, awarded, and internationally acclaimed feature films from Poland today, and reflects the diverse styles and subjects of Polish cinema. This year’s films include: Poland’s 2014 Oscar submission, WAŁESA: MAN OF HOPE ( WAŁĘSA: CZŁOWIEK Z NADZIEI), the amazing story of the ‘Solidarity’ leader, by the legendary director and our festival’s Honorary Patron, Andrzej Wajda; PAPUSZA by Joanna Kos-Krauze and Krzysztof Krauze, a poetic film about a Roma poet; LIFE FEELS GOOD (CHE SIĘ ŻYĆ) by Maciej Pieprzyca, winner of the 2013 Viewers Award at Poland’s biggest film showcase in Gdynia; FLOATING SKYSCRAPERS (PŁYNĄCE WIEŻOWCE) by Tomasz Wasilewski, introduced last year at the Tribeca Film Festival and winner of ‘Best Debut’ at Gdynia; and LOVING (MIŁOŚĆ) by Sławomir Fabicki, which features the great actors Julia Kijowska and Marcin Dorocinski.

Special thanks to our sponsors and patrons: Żywiec Polish Beer, the Official Festival Sponsor; and our Honorary Patrons, the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in New York, Director Andrzej Wajda, the Association of Polish Filmmakers, and PISF.
