Friday, September 1 TODAY TOMORROW WEEKEND MONTH

7:15 PM
THE FILMS OF FERRY RADAX: PROGRAM 1

This screening is part of: THE FILMS OF FERRY RADAX

Film Notes

MOSAIK IM VERTRAUEN, with its intertwining of documentary and narrative forms as well as its explorations into the possibilities of montage, is often considered the founding document of the Austrian avant-garde. Though frequently credited solely to Peter Kubelka, it was in fact made in collaboration with Radax. This program also features several short advertisements Radax produced in Switzerland, where he completed the last film in the program, SONNE HALT!, as well. This remarkable work features his friend, the writer Konrad Bayer, and incorporates excerpts from Bayer’s book THE SIXTH SENSE. More a loop than a linear movie, AM RAND presents European youth culture in several cities. The postwar scenario of Vienna resonates vibrantly with jazz, poetry, action painting, and performance art. Among the several featured artists, Konrad Bayer returns as Beatnik Paul.
